I have worked at Dot for nearly 13 years. During my time as a Order Selector, I learned to do every job function available to me at a high production rate with as little errors as possible while keeping an active focus on safety.
In 2021, I was promoted to Warehouse Trainer for the 3x12 Day Shift where I have the opportunity to pass on the knowledge I've gained to other Order Selectors and new employees.
In early 2023, I began learning how to program applications in Microsoft Power Apps and have since developed many apps that our warehouse uses to assist in our daily functions such as a tool to capture Questionable ICOs sent from other DCs, an app to record all safety audits required of our leads, a system to record PIR infractions, and a system to audit aisle housekeeping.
As a trainer on the 3x12 Days shift, I am responsible for training new employees both on the required equipment (Stand-up/sit-down forklifts, cherry pickers, and pallet jacks) and the standards and practices of the job as an order selector. I also ensure every employee on the shift is certified on all relevant equipment and reinforce safe behaviors by regularly running a Behavioral Based Safety team and Safety Committee.
As an order selector, I would pick customer orders using various machines, put away product in the appropriate storage locations using a narrow aisle reach truck, receive product from vendors and other Dot Foods DCs, and load customer loads while maintaining a production and service level standard.
As a supervisor at UPS, I was responsible for overseeing the unloading of trailers and sorting the cases to the appropriate belt for loading. I would also train new employees and run the Saturday Air dispatch for 6-8 delivery drivers.
