Assistant to the Resident Engineer (R.E.) at the Oklahoma City Residency. Position includes overseeing inspectors and day to day operations. Assure that the inspectors had the training needed for day to day activities. This position includes project budgets and making sure that we stayed within said budget. I also write change orders for additional funding should that be needed, answer RFI's from contractors and consultants.

This position entailed end of project finalization and assuring all pay items had the necessary justification for monies paid including all as-builts that go along with the pay items. Once satisfied with the checks and balances for the contract I would close the project out and submit the final payment, if any to the contractor.

Responsible for assuring that all products meet state standards before being put in use on projects. This is done by either testing or verifying that the product is on the qpl (qualified product list).

I was hired by the OKlahoma Department of Transportation and was put on a field crew with weekly travel, in state to various locations. These locations were for future projects that were on the 8 year plan and we would either drill for bedrock or collect field specimens for testing at the Materials Lab. I did this for about 4 years then moved into the Materials Lab and began testing the specimens that were collected in the field. Those tests included proctors, liquid limit, plastic limit and gradations to determine the soil classification. Later I was in charge of determining the Resiliant Modulus of different soil structures. I also ran the seismograph equipment and traveled all over the state collecting data for future projects.
