Planning a Christmas party for residents of assisted living this was a two month project gathering with residents in the afternoons to make ornaments for the tree that would be in the Skyline dining room as well as Country Kitchen dining room leading up to the Christmas party Organized with other employees willing to volunteer time to help residents decorate the trees Met with residents to get favorite recipes they made in their homes and recreated those recipes as well as other homemade cakes cookies candy etc to serve at the party this was the first Christmas after covid lock downs and there was an outstanding turnout from residents for this event Planned and organized a Mothers Day event for Assisted Living Residents in this event I built a board which was displayed in the dining room and asked residents that were interested to provide photos of themselves with either their children or their mothers and posted them on the board for viewing by staff and residents added a raffle type giveaway for residents( with all gifts being donated) at which residents were given a number as the entered the dining room and gifts with corresponding numbers were then handed out Did a very similar event for Fathers Day Bringing in fresh vegetables for residents to share with one another Crafting with residents to make centerpieces for their dining tables Trying to connect with residents on a level of friendship and service in as many ways as possible while I was in the supervisor roll After leaving that role and transitiining to Gardenside I truly miss those expierences and oppurtunities but have tried to stay active with helping in taste of home and monthly birthday parties as possible
