• Engaged with children during free time to build relationships and foster trust. Work a 7-day schedule of 24 hours on and a 7-day schedule of 24 hours off. Served up to 10 youth simultaneously in a cottage environment. Facilitate all needed services for each youth, including physical, mental, and treatment needs for youth.
• Implemented crisis intervention strategies when needed to maintain safety boundaries for said youths.

Officiated High School, Junior High, Recreation, Football, Wrestling, and Volleyball sports for over 35 years. Also, did some semi-pro football officiating. Did regional state wrestling tournaments yearly. Also, did the State Wrestling Tournament a number of years.

• Provided oversight of young individuals placed under protective supervision or probation for undisciplined or delinquent acts in North Carolina.
• Carried out new pilot programs designed by the State of North Carolina, such as Intensive Probation monitoring, extension of undisciplined age for monitoring, and enforcing new conditions of the juvenile code assigned by the Court.
• Ensured efficient case management for Court-assigned youth. Did require Court reviews and termination hearings.
• Monitored, committed youth under the care of DYS for serious delinquent behavior offenses. Conducted monthly meetings at secure settings, discussing staffing and reviewing progress towards rehabilitation goals.
• Was Acting Chief Court Counselor for under a year, supervising staff of 11, for the 29th Judicial District. Performed Case Management with every staff monthly and reviewed records to assure all Court Orders be administered. Implemented state and local needs for the 5-county district.
• Later in career, I was assigned to observe and monitor staff and evaluate the function of the DYS center in WNC over a 3-year period of time.
• Retired 03/09 with State of NC and Local Government with 31 years of service accrued

• Started out career in Medicaid Certification for 1 year. Later, encouraged and took on the role of a child protective service investigator. I was in that role primarily for most of the 8 years I was with the Department of Social Services. Did briefly help out in Adult Services with area of Investigations and Child Support.
• In the investigation component, assessed risk factors for abuse or neglect within a household.
• Monitored compliance of family members with court orders relating to child protection cases.
• Regularly communicated progress updates with supervisors and other relevant parties.
• Handled the development and acquisition of essential services for household safety during minors' care.
• When needed, helped in transitions of minors to kinship care, foster care, or group care, depending on assessed need of such minors. Implemented effective strategies to support parents in achieving the goals of reunifying their children.
• Completed 1 year with Rutherford County DSS, doing investigations in 2013.
• Made lateral transfer from Local Government to State Government, doing Court Services beginning 8/88.

• Provided individual and group behavior intervention services to students with educational and mental disabilities.
• Provided crisis intervention services when needed. Interventions more verbally executed. Did not use any physical restraint techniques.
• Part-time position of 5.5 hours daily, but was flexible in meeting hourly needs of students being served.
• Assisted 4 educational staff and one additional behavior specialist, who was restraint certified, in meeting academic goals of each assigned student.
• Funding for position was time limited and expired on 6/5/24

• Developed trusting relationships with clients through active listening skills and compassionate understanding of individual needs.
• Provided assistance with funding services to address mobility issues by helping patients walk or transfer from one position to another safely.
• Provided assistance with funding services to address further care, such as assistance with eating and bathing.
