- Every Saturday afternoon at 3 PM I get on a zoom call prepared to teach math to 1st-8th grade students from my local church. During the pandemic children weren’t able to get the help they needed from their teachers like they did before, so after hearing concerns from parents, me and some church members came up with the idea of having a Saturday school. With it, we are able to help students retain the material they learned in class and give them lessons so that they can be prepared ahead of their classes. In the past year this experience has been very valuable to me. Not only was I able to get out of my comfort zone and find solutions for our community but also practice my social skills, communicate with others better and be able to give back to the community that has done so much for me.

I sing every Sunday and other major Ethiopian Orthodox holidays at church with other choir members.

Co-founded and President of fashion club at our school. We meet and talk about current fashion trends and design our own clothing. We also work on projects to help raise money. We are currently planning to have a clothes drive to donate to homeless.
