Caitlyn Owen

Clemson University graduate applying to medical school. Has experience working with patients as a CNA in an Assisted living facility and as a PCA for a physically disabled Clemson student. Tutored several classes of Organic Chemistry through Clemson's PAL program and participated in research through Dr. Price's Biology Lab. Volunteered with Clemson's "Green at Heart: Enhancing Community through Conservation Efforts in Asheville" project and at the Anderson free clinic.

• Volunteer: Helps distribute prescriptions and assists patients at the Anderson Free Clinic.
• Student Volunteer: Participated in Clemson University's "Green at Heart: Enhancing Community through Conservation Efforts in Asheville" project. Traveled with a small group to Asheville for a week to help clean rivers, pick up trash downtown, build a greenhouse, and plant trees.
• Shadowing Hours (130hrs): Observed the day to day activities of a family physician and was able to be a part patient interactions. Experienced the lifestyle of a doctor and viewed the behind the scenes responsibilities.
• Undergraduate Research: Participated in research through Dr. Price's biology lab. Was paired with a graduate student to learn how to analyze and isolate scans of fish jaws.
