  • For the past 9 years I have been a Federal Law Enforcement Officer Department of Energy (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) Office of Secure Transportation (OST).
  • DOE/NNSA/OST Federal Agents are specialized federal law enforcement officers with the authority to investigate and require information as to all matters relating to laws and regulations concerning the transportation of nuclear weapons and special nuclear material.
  • The position I currently hold as an 0084 Nuclear Materials Courier and have since August 2022 is Special Response Force Squad Commander (NV-04/GS-13). I have been an SRF team member for the past 8 years.
  • As a Squad Commander it is my responsibility to prepare and lead an SRF team tasked with pursuit and recovery of cargo unlawfully removed from an OST shipment's custody and control, direct and coordinates the work of all agents while on mission operations, assess employee competencies, and recommend training as necessary to ensure that staff capabilities are consistent with mission requirements.
  • SRF agents undergo constant tactical training to include close quarter battle, maintain a mandatory 90% weapons proficiency on all rifle and pistol weapons systems, flashbang deployment and also proficient with explosive, shotgun and mechanical breaching.
  • Along with being SRF certified, I am also an OST Designated Marksman held to a high standard of proficiency and qualified with a 7.62 long gun.
  • DOE NNSA agents are required to attend a 16-week basic federal law enforcement academy that is split up between time training at the DOE/OST training command in Ft. Chaffee Arkansas and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Georgia. On top of firearms, tactics and CDL certification driving, instruction include federal crime statutes, government regulations, rules of evidence, court procedures, investigative techniques, critical incident management and constitutional rights that apply to the transportation of nuclear materials.
  • Extensive experience safeguarding classified information at the Secret and Top Secret/SCI levels and currently carry a "Q" level clearance.
  • This position requires my participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP) which has a rigorous testing process annually to qualify me to remain in the program and reinvestigates my clearance every 5 years.

  • 2010-2014 Squad Leader/Infantry Unit Leader United States Marine Corps -Provided leadership, mentorship and training to a Platoon of 45 Marines.
  • Maintained strict accountability at all times of the platoons' personnel, gear, weapons and vehicles.
  • Conducted and kept records of daily if needed and mandatory monthly counseling's that were done with each individual Marine to set goals for success.
  • Deployed to Afghanistan as an Infantry Squad Leader. During this deployment along with conducting security foot patrols, utilizing an interpreter I taught patrolling tactics, infantry techniques and procedures and small arms employment classes to the Afghanistan Army and Police.
  • I led over 50 combat foot patrols in order to keep a presence in our area of operations while I was partnered with Afghanistan Army and Police until they became proficient and capable of patrolling independently.
  • I would also conduct daily key leadership engagements with local Afghanistan leaders to conduct comprehensive investigations of terrorist activity in my areas of operation. Upon completion of patrols I would conduct back briefs with intelligence teams with any information I provide to create follow on missions.


  • 2007- 2010 Marine Corps Security Forces Section Leader Kings Bay, GA .
  • Obtained certification into the Personnel Reliability Program. -Served as a Section Leader for a 45 plus Marine section in daily strategic security operations within the Strategic Weapons Facility Atlantic limited area.
  • Completed Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor course. This program trains Marines in unarmed combat, edged weapons, weapons of opportunity and rifle and bayonet techniques. It also stresses mental and character development including the responsible use of force, leadership and teamwork.
  • Selected to take over the Security Force Battalions Orientation program where I ensured over 800 Marines and Sailors were fully trained and qualified to guard our nation's strategic weapons.
  • Another part of this billet was to coordinate and conduct live fire ranges to qualify the students with the weapons they would be using on post to include the M16 service rifle, M9 Beretta pistol, M249 Squad Automatic Weapon and M240B machine gun.


  • 2005-2007 Infantry Squad Leader First Battalion Seventh Marines.
  • Deployed to Iraq as an Infantry Squad Leader taking charge of over 60 combat foot and mobile patrols. During these patrols it was my responsibility to lead tactical offensive operations to counter attack an attack and repel any threats to our foot patrol or convoy if we were mobile.
  • As a Squad Leader I was in charge of all the logistics associated with patrols, raids and convoys.
  • I conducted numerous mobile unit and foot patrol tactical briefings which included areas of responsibilities and actions on contact, coordinated with the Iraqi Army and Police to train them in order to patrol with us.
  • Served as vehicle commander during many convoys providing security while transporting higher echelon personnel and doing security patrols and raids throughout our areas of operation. During these patrols I would also conduct daily key leadership engagements with local Iraqi leaders to conduct comprehensive investigations of terrorist activity in my areas of operation.
  • Detained many individuals for suspected terrorist activity, conducted and documented interviews and coordinated with supporting units to arrest and take the suspected terrorists to jail and trial.


  • 2003-2005 Rifleman, Convoy Operations Vehicle Commander, Post Stander Marine Corps Security Forces Company Bangor, Washington.
  • During this time, I was introduced to and put into the Personnel Reliability Program for the first time
  • The duties and responsibilities here included providing reactionary forces and manning static posts guarding the strategic weapons stored and moved around the area
  • I held a Secret clearance during my time here.
