I commercial fished on a seiner in Alaska for three summers in Sitka and petersburg alaska. For all three season I was a deckhand helping on the deck with hauling in gear and doing daily tasks like maintenance on the fishing gear and the boat, keeping the inside and outside of the boat cleaned. Before each season I'll help get the boat ready for fishing like painting and sanding the outside of the boat and rigging the fishing gear. Each season is three months so I lived on the boat for that period of time and each fishing day is twelve hour days.
