Work History

Midshipman

United States Naval Academy
06.2020 - Current

A Midshipman at the United States Naval Academy (USNA) is a student enrolled in a rigorous four-year program designed to develop future officers for the United States Navy and Marine Corps. The program encompasses academic, physical, and leadership training, aimed at producing well-rounded individuals equipped for military service and leadership roles. While at USNA, Midshipmen are required to complete an intensive set of courses that will award the student with a Bachelor's of Science. They must also go through intensive leadership development that occurs through daily life at USNA and various summer trainings that are conducted through the U.S. Navy. Midshipmen must also maintain physical fitness in order to prepare to serve as future officers. While at the United States Naval Academy, I held several leadership roles. They are listed below.

  • Company Operations: creating the plan of the week and company events for approximately 140 midshipman.
  • Administration Chief: supervising the creation and routing of chits and other paperwork.
  • Platoon Sergeant: responsible for taking accountability of approximately 40 midshipmen and aiding the platoon commander as he ran the platoon.
  • Platoon Commander: Led approximately 40 midshipman and was solely responsible for their well-being, performance, and attendance.
  • Aptitude and Conduct: Led the performance review system and was in charge of the disciplinary process for offending Midshipman in the company.

Summer Training

United States Navy
06.2021 - 08.2023

While at the United States Naval Academy, I participated in various summer trainings that are designed to introduce Midshipmen to the operational Navy and further develop their leadership skills.

  • June 2021: Served as a squad leader for the Naval Academy Summer Seminar program. I was in charge of approximately three groups of ten high school students as they were introduced to the United States Naval Academy. I supervised their daily routines and led them through the program.
  • June 2022: Surface warfare cruise out of Norfolk, Virginia. I was attached to a Navy amphibious ship for a month and shadowed an enlisted servicemember in order to gain greater familiarity with his jobs and responsibilities and to foster an enhanced understanding of the operational Navy.
  • July 2022: Command and Seamanship Training Squadron. I was the watch captain of a sailboat that sailed ten people from the United States Naval Academy up to Oyster Bay, New York. While on this journey, I was in charge of half of the personnel on board and ensured that all of the necessary operations of the ship were completed safely.
  • July 2023: Information Warfare Community (IWC) cruise. Over the course of approximately one month, I went to the various IWC commands in the Norfolk and DC areas in order to learn more about the Navy's IWC.
