As a seasoned coffee professional who has built multiple multi million dollar companies from the ground up, and have helped start and grow a new company in Wisconsin, I am looking to transition and use my entrepreneur skills for the advancement of the Gospel and the Kingdom through Outdoor Ministry. I believe my background and work through international partnerships will help me in my potential work with WMI. I have a full Bachelors in Ministry and have almost completed a Master of Theology (still in progress). Currently, in Wisconsin, my wife and I serve in our local Youth Group primarily leading the worship ministry and we also help with off site events (retreats etc) and help lead games on youth nights.
As I consider changing careers and serving with WMI, I do this as I feel call to "step out of the boat" and serve God through what I believe is his call for my life. I gave my life to the Lord at a young age, and the is nothing greater than ones faith. I desire for other people, kids in particular, to have chance to encounter Christ specifically through creation. Matthew 28 rings loud in my heart and mind and I greatly desire to move back into full time vocation ministry.
Over the years, we have spent a significant time with youth in many capacities. I worked as a full time youth pastor for many years leading youth and sharing the gospel any time we could. Currently, we serve in our local youth group in Wisconsin as volunteer parent leaders.
As I consider coming on with WMI, my love for the outdoors is one of the things that drives me the greatest. I grew up in the outdoors and Mountains, and cannot find a place that I find closer to the Lord that in his Creation. I am versed in almost every outdoor adventure that is available, although I would need a refresher on a few things as there have been some "years" where I did not do much due to my activities around my current career in coffee. I desire for other people to experience the Lord the same way I have through Creation.
Additionally, through ministry related trips, and through coffee, I have spent a reasonable amount of time overseas including time in Mexico, Central America, South America, and Europe. I believe this time will help aid me my work with WMI.
My wife and I are prayerfully considering my involvement with WMI, but at this time feel the call to join the team should WMI be pre-paired to invite me. We are very nervous about the "support raising" aspect, but again feel like Peter, and we need to obey the Lords prompting and step out of the boat. It is likely that I will have to turn in my resignation prior to the Staff Trip as I may or may not be granted the time off. I am pre-paired to do this even if there is not a specific path forward. I have been praying for over a decade about working in wilderness ministry and my wife and I feel that now is that time.
