  • National Home-Based Primary Care External Peer Review Program, Veterans Health Administration (2021-Current)- HBPC Clinical Representative with monthly meeting requirements, review of clinical reminders, fallouts, suggested template edits, and ongoing collaboration with other committee members.
  • High-Reliability Organization Collaborative to Reduce Hospital Readmission Rates, Oklahoma City VAMC (03/2022-09/2022)- Completion of clinical team training and lean process improvements with weekly sessions to model and apply process improvement tools, discuss strategies among participants and identify different modalities that can be utilized to spread best practices to decrease preventable hospital readmission rates throughout individual facilities.
  • Meaningful Use and Physician Quality Review, Midwest Regional Medical Center (2015)- Developed, implemented, and evaluated program for Meaningful Use and Physician Quality Review. Successful transition from paper orders to computerized order entry. Physician and provider compliance increased from less than 50% to greater than 70% within one month. Established a Provider-only helpline for issues with computers or networking. Contributed to the facilitation of focused corporate IT support to work toward the resolution of overall networking issues. Program review data is currently on target to meet Meaningful Use objectives.
  • Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner Didactic Course & Clinical Courses, Oklahoma State University Center for Health & Sciences (2010)- Completion of 55 didactic hours and 14 contact hours, earning the ability to serve as an additional resource beyond the single SANE nurse for sexual assault victims in the community.
  • Policy and Procedure, Ponca City Medical Center (2010) - Developed, implemented, and evaluated policy and procedures for Intensive Critical Care patients. Established protocols and emergency standing orders. Established protocol for prioritizing patient acuity. Aided in physician care needs for immediate involvement upon ICU presentation based on patient acuity protocol. Established and implemented a protocol to assist in appropriate discharge from the ICU to the step-down units or regular floor.

Studies

In-house retrospective evaluation, Midwest Regional Medical Center, 2015, Meaningful use and physician quality review. Monitoring of education and established protocols to improve quality in patient care. As well as evaluation of meaningful use standards within the hospitalist group at facility. Purpose is to identify strengths and weakness of the established protocol. Ability to address identified needs and reassess for new strategies and implementation. Maintain ongoing review and assess for improvement in meaningful use and physician quality review associated with patient admissions for certain diagnosis, and readmission rates for those diagnosis, as well as proper documentation for treatment plan, appropriate length of stay for associated diagnosis.
