Work History

Seafood Clerk

Stop and Shop Supermarket
06.2022 - Current
  • What I do at this job is that I work behind a seafood case and sell + prepare products inside the case to customers who would request them. I am also responsible for helping them find seafood products inside the coolers and cold bunkers. If they aren't sure what they want, I give them my best recommendations, and if they need help looking for something, I point them in the best place to look. This job also involves some knowledge of the product itself because someone in this position needs to ensure that cross contamination and other factors like quality insurance and customer satisfaction are taken into consideration seriously so that people don't have to face repercussions for simply being hungry. A lot of work goes into ensuring this every day, which is not limited to constant cleaning of the station I work at, the materials I use to prepare seafood, presentation of how products are arranged, and my overall friendliness and usefulness to customers.

Recreation Assistant

Whitney Place Assisted Living
09.2019 - 04.2020
  • Essentially what I would do is find ways to entertain the residents residing in assisted living, whether that's doing small stretches and workouts in the morning, doing creative works and celebrating holidays, helping in organizing events scheduled, doing brain and memory jogging activities, and other events like doing puzzles and overall making sure everyone felt happy and at home. Something I was particularly good at was coming up with things to do because of my artistic ability. So for example I would do an activity with residents where they would name off ten of a certain type of thing to jog their memory, say for instance, ten animals. If they could guess that many, I would gradually make detailed drawings of all the animals they answered with on the white board I was originally using to make a list of the 10 things. This was actually a surprisingly popular thing I did there.
