I greet guests, up sell/suggest drinks, take drink orders, then prepare all drinks. I mix alcoholic drinks, pour beer to their order and then deliver drinks. I up sell/suggest apps, take their food order, and then enter order into Aloha Computer System. During certain shifts I also expo and run food for my tables.
I do a 'two minute/two bite' check on my tables to make sure everything is great and as expected. I am happy to maintain neat table settings throughout the meal by removing finished courses, replacing utensils and refilling beverages promptly. At last, I recommend a dessert and drop their bill. I am responsible for my own bank and having proper change to cash out customers and the house at the end of shift. I thank them for coming in and invite them back.

I feel I am a valuable employee because I take responsibility for my tables and for showing up for my shifts. I perform opening and closing duties. I am happy to cover for other peoples shifts. Archie's is a fast paced and high volume restaurant where it is a must that I am able to handle several tables at a time. It is common for me to be the only server on the floor.
Hired as a bar-back which included some busing and food running. Poured beer, made simple drinks, stocked bar, did bar dishes, cleared tables.
This is where I learned how to properly make drinks and keep a bar.
After a few months of bar-backing I became a server and back-up bartender. Hard Rock Tahoe stays insanely busy in the summer. I learned how important it is to keep a cool head under high stress situations. It is a great and fast paced place to work.
I feel I was an asset to this company because I request to learn as many positions and as much about the restaurant as possible so that I can cover or stand in when needed. I like being a person who says, "I can, let me help."
Fin n Feather is a riverside Supper Club open to the public with boat parking in the summer and snow sports on the frozen river in the winter. It is an upscale restaurant for the area that stays very busy with customers who have high expectations. Working in this diverse restaurant made me learn how to wear different hats and change them quickly while keeping a smile. Fin n Feather changes from a party location on their monster wooden deck/dock in the sunny afternoons to a nice dinner club in the evenings.
I worked my way up from busser to host to food runner to server over my years of working here. It was a great job and a great work experience. I really learned a lot about front of house expectations and back of house courtesy.
