They coordinate with the Weapons Squad Leader, manage ammunition and maintenance, and lead the gunner and assistant gunner in delivering sustained, accurate fire during combat operations.

An Infantry Fire Team Leader commands a fire team of 4 to 5 soldiers, executing tactical missions and supporting the Squad Leader’s objectives. They are responsible for mission planning, tactical movement, and maintaining discipline and morale. The Squad Leader ensures effective communication, supervises weapons employment, and coordinates with higher leadership. They lead by example, demonstrating physical fitness, technical skill, and combat readiness. In both training and combat.
