I have worked a few different jobs, including back of the house in a restaurant, at a large ski resort and a smaller ski mountain, most recently in the criminal justice system working with youth in detention and in a residential program. Throughout my different jobs I have learned many different skills and now consider myself to be a dynamic Juvenile Justice Specialist with proven crisis intervention and conflict resolution skills. I am consider myself a patient and empathetic person who is adept at facilitating group counseling sessions and mentoring at-risk youth, and fostering positive behavior change. Bilingual in Spanish and English, I excel in effective communication and record keeping, ensuring comprehensive support for juveniles in the justice system.
I started working at the Juvenile Department as a part-timer and worked for six months covering both the juvenile detention pod and the Barriers to Bridges youth treatment program pod. I went full-time in November 2023 and worked solely in the detention pod. After a year of working in detention, I made the change to working in the youth treatment program, Barriers to Bridges, and I have been working there since.
