  • As certified Firefighter/Paramedic, I have expert proficiency and perform the same duties of a Firefighter/EMT outlined in my GS-7 job experiences along with specific and specialized duties and responsibilities unique to Naval Construction Battalion Center Gulfport.   • As Fire Chief of Satsuma Fire Rescue Department, I provided Leadership and direction for 5 paid and 32 volunteer personnel while providing administration, department head and emergency response duties for the city of Satsuma, AL. As a department head of the Public Safety department, I was responsible for the organization and direction of the department I order to ensure that loss of life, property or injury as a result of fire was prevented and/or minimized. Through the mitigation process of all incidents and emergency calls, I reported on a regular basis to the mayor and city council. I was solely responsible for directing activities of the fire department and personnel on all emergency scenes while directing all paid and volunteer firefighters through the incident command system. Was responsible for ensuring that all firefighters had adequate training and equipment to perform the required tasks to respond to any emergency that came up. We provided input to the Zoning and Planning board for the city on new construction, alterations, and extensions of the existing structures in the city and recommended changes to ensure compliance with fire prevention and protection requirements while maintaining a readiness of an I.S.O rating of a 5/9 that allow the fire department to provide services that enhanced the safety of the residents that reduced unnecessary injury, loss of life, or damage or destruction of property as a result of fire.
  • Developed, reviewed, and implemented all firefighting policies and procedures in accordance with municipal ordinances, state law, and federal laws and regulations in accordance with NFPA. Worked Closely with the Mobile County Volunteer Firefighter Association and the 19 volunteer departments to help ensure firefighting techniques, strategies, policies, and procedures along with dispatching were strictly adhered to.
