  • Assist with special events and program managed by the SLH staff and volunteers.
  • Support engaging, fun, and smooth-running Thursday night community meals by helping to plan and execute meals served to families.
  • Use strong interpersonal communication skills to convey information to the SLH staff and volunteers.
  • Represent SLH at various community events by building positive relationships w/ peers and encouraging other potential supporters to join.
  • Collaborate with other nonprofit organizations to develop joint initiatives, while strengthening partnerships between the organization and local businesses.
  • Spearhead special projects such as the ambassador program, which provides a fully furnished apartment for a mother and her children to be set up for success.

  • Directly worked with case manager to assist refugee family find independent living outside of overpopulated shelter.
  • Single handily helped refugee family obtain new residence in safe neighborhood with Spanish speaking public schools for 3 children.
  • Utilized the Chicago Furniture Bank and outside donations to fully furnish apartment to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
  • Direct liaison between refugee family, landlord, vendors and employers between 2022-2023.
  • Communicated with staff members to stay informed about volunteer opportunities, events, and current needs of the shelter.

  • Assisted in fundraising events for MCP by securing necessary resources, sponsorship and donations, which most recently raised 130K at 2023 rebel event
