I'm a current fourth year undergraduate student at UVA who is majoring in Biology with minoring in Spanish. One of my major goals is to get involved in clinical research during my 2 gap years. I’ve always been a hands-on student and enjoy working independently or with others. Due to my open-mindedness, compassion and strong work ethic, I know that I would work easily and effectively with others and can be trained to sufficiently perform data analysis, write scientific reports and conduct any necessary community outreach. I've had some experience being on a research team due to my work with the Center of Global Health Equity at UVA and would love to expand on what I've already learned. In particular, neurosurgery has piqued my interest, since I've been shadowing in the Neurosurgery Department at UVA and have written some articles highlighting some of their doctors.
