• Perform a variety of duties and physical work in the field responding to requests for assistance in the enforcement of ordinances and statutes relating to animal control.
• Rotates weekend and evening on-call duty and every third weekend cleaning duty at the Animal Control Facility.
• Investigates animal cruelty and bite cases, issues warrant, and testifies in court
• Responsible for capturing, confining, and euthanizing dangerous, stray, or diseased animals to ensure the safety of citizens of Beaufort County and the safety of animals.
• Maintains and cleans animal shelter. Orders and picks up supplies. Impounds and feeds animals, ensures quality of care, administers medications/vaccines, obtains veterinarian care, euthanizes animals.
• As needed, assists the public in services offered by the Animal Control Office. Greets and directs public, answers phone, handles complaints and concerns, resolves problems, dispatches animal control officers.
• Assists public officials, media, and law enforcement.
Shows adoptable pets and implements adoption process.
• Computes charges and refunds for adoptions, reclaims, etc., collects fees and maintains records. Performs administrative duties.
• Operates computers, prepares detailed records of investigations and complaints.
• Enters animal information in database.
• Prepares documents such as advertisements, spreadsheets, receipts, etc. Assists in the daily operation and activities of the County’s animal shelter.

•Chemical Capture Certification
•Euthanasia Technician Certified in Florida (Osceola County) and North Carolina (Beaufort County)
•Rabies Vaccinator Certification North Carolina (Beaufort County)
