SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Intake/Records Supervisor
My essential duties:
Supervise, direct, and coordinate the activities of the Intake/Records Function and its assigned personnel.
Responsible for processing, classifying, receiving, and discharging inmates and maintaining the proper documentation in the inmate files.
Supervise the initial search of new inmates for contraband upon their arrival to the Detention Center.
Responsible for the removal, inventory, logging in, and storage of personal property of inmates in designated holding area and exchanges for court.
Verify and Deposit Inmate funds into the Bank of America inmate funds account.
Order DNA Kits from the Maryland State Police, when needed.
Run a weekly Felony DNA report and have samples collected.
Lodge detainers to other jurisdictions for individuals that come from other agencies.
Prepare transfer paperwork for individuals released from our custody to another agency (DOC).
Contact the courts to retrieve needed paperwork for inmates files ie..new commitments, amended commitments, court orders for rehab.
Contact rehabilitation facilities to verify beds are available for inmates who are under court order to be transferred.
Contact other agencies for time calculations on inmates serving their sentence at CCDC.
Assist transport with daily transporting needs such as doctors appointments, court appearances and writs.
Send reports to DSS and States Attorney on time served by inmates.
Send Failure to report reports to the Judges and States Attorney’s Office.
Responsible for daily inmate population count, verifying it periodically, and tracking any discrepancies.
Calculate/verify inmates’ expected release dates as required by the Maryland Law code 704.
Responsible for the release of inmates upon fulfillment of sentence or bond/fine obligation, verifying inmate has no other outstanding warrants, and ensuring personal property is released and accounted for.
Supervise daily court lists and coordinate the transportation of inmates to court proceedings.
Notify courts of failures to report on “To Be Committed” individuals.
Assist with the supervision and coordination of the transportation of inmates to and from court and the Detention Center, both in Charles County and other jurisdictions.
Supervise and coordinate transportation of inmates to the Department of Corrections after sentencing by the court.
Coordinate the escort of inmates to court holding, verifying correct inmate is being transported, and ensuring restraints (handcuffs, leg irons, black box, and waist chain) are placed on inmates.
Store property of Work Release violators.
Testify in front of the Grand Jury, and any other court subpoenaed cases, as scheduled.
Work directly with the courts and other federal, state, and county agencies.
Responsible for the operation of the property room to include exchanges, releases, notifications, and disposal.
Conduct and document bi-annual property inventory.
Responsible for sending notification to owners of abandoned property.
Submit periodic reports to superiors on the activities of the Intake/Records Function.
Conduct research on the future needs of the Intake/Records Function and assist in preparing the annual budget.
Recommend what equipment is needed for the Intake/Records Function.
