  • Integral part of team responsible for nurturing academic and emotional development of up to 43 children and their families.
  • Directly responsible for development and implementation of Kindergarten curriculum. Major units included: Shoebox Science followed by parent attended Science Fair, Magic Show at Halloween, annual community service project, Grammar, Poetry, Higher Math highlighted by introduction to Fibonacci numbers and math in nature, and Gingerbread Man extravaganza.
  • Planned and developed materials for in depth cultural studies of all continents and specific countries, including, but not limited to, China, Japan, France, England, Italy, India, Burma. Helped to build play based environments to go along with each cultural study. Continents and countries were picked based on backgrounds of children enrolled at time.
  • Helped make monthly Family Dinners run smoothly. Guided and helped children prepare meal to be served that evening to their families. Meals were based on cultural study at that time. Socialized and positively interacted with families at these events.
  • Planned and developed materials for in depth artist studies. Including, but not limited to, Renoir, Monet, Degas, Cassatt, Van Gogh, Matisse, Picasso, O'Keefe, Botero, and Audubon. Artists were picked based on cultural study at time.
  • Planned and developed materials for in depth author studies. Including, but not limited to, Jan Brett, Eric Carle, Kevin Henkes, Dr. Seuss, Shel Silverstein, and Paulette Bourgeois.
  • Planned and developed materials for in depth studies of Pioneers, Native Americans, Peace Makers, Space, and Ocean.
  • Helped to plan various celebrations throughout calendar year, emphasizing celebrations from around globe.
  • Helped to plan and develop Gardening Unit each year. Helped children plant seeds in spring, prepare garden beds, transplant seedlings, water and weed, harvest, and prep harvest for snacks for school. Flowers were picked to make arrangements for school or to take home.
  • Supported Director at annual Discipline Seminars for families of currently enrolled children, as well as alumni.
  • Arrived at school 1/2 hour early each day to set classroom for day: emptied dishwashers, did laundry, took trash and recycling bins to curb, restocked jobs, made coffee, and made breakfast for children.
  • Made 4 snacks a day taking in to consideration allergies and medical needs.
  • In charge of training and giving lessons to new hires.
