With a background in fabric and textiles, creating household items such as quilts or recovering a chair, is a creative outlet! Finding old sewing machines (powered by treadle, hand-crank or electrical) provides a fun outlet. Collecting old irons and thread spools is another impact of a fabric textile education.

Gardening is another way to channel my creative side. In my current home a riverbed was added to handle water run off, plus a play pit for dogs, a paved dog path around the exterior of the yard. When a very large oak tree had to be cut down due to disease, a fifteen foot stump was left in the backyard. A husband/wife team of chain saw artists were hired to create a "Snoopy dog-house" from the stump!
