I have completed the online blended portion of the AHA healthcare provider BLS and will complete the in-person portion in January to make my BLS certification current. My CNA license expired this past August; therefore, I have a few options for reinstatement depending on which routes would be most beneficial for this potential job. I can apply to the board of nursing for reinstatement once I have began working in roles similar to CNAs, at which point the board will assess any current working experience and determine if these roles align similarly enough to grant reinstatement. Additionally, I can apply immediately prior to working, in which case the board will recommend to retake the state examination. I have all the materials in order to review and retake the state CNA examination but I am also willing to complete any on-the-job training and skill refreshers depending on the office's preference.
