● Develops lesson plans and instructional materials and provides individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.

● Identifies students with substantial academic deficiencies by evaluation of available test and observational data, by consultation with staff members, and by recommendations made by other personnel

● Cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and resolving learning problems

● Participates in school-level planning, faculty meetings/committees and other school system groups.

● Develops lesson plans to teach students all subjects

● Teach students how to interact with others/problem solving

● Observe students to evaluate their abilities, strengths, and weaknesses

● Instruct an entire class or smaller groups of students

● Grade students’ assignments

● Communicate with parents or guardian about their child’s progress/behaviors

● Work with students individually to help them overcome specific learning challenges

● Assist in preparation of instructional materials

● Establish supportive relationship with students

● Help maintain individual records for each child

● Assist in behavior management/implement behavior strategies

● Maintaining a safe and supportive environment for young children

● Assisting teachers with carrying out lesson plans

● Helping children use the bathroom or, when necessary, changing diapers

● Handling basic hygiene needs such as handwashing
