In my current role as a Special Education Coordinator, working under the direction of the Assistant Superintendent of Alternative Instruction and the Director of Special Education, I assist in the management and administration of special education programs across alternative education settings. I facilitate IEP meetings and serve as the Local Educational Agency (LEA) Representative, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws while guiding collaborative, student-centered decision-making. I provide technical assistance to school personnel in the areas of program development, schoolwide systems, and inclusive practices, while supporting integration between general education and special education services.

• Work collaboratively with the lead instructor to implement course materials, syllabi, and instructional strategies that align with program objectives and BACB standards.
• Lead and moderate classroom discussions, encouraging critical thinking and active participation among students.
• Grade all student assessments, including quizzes, exams, and practical assignments, providing detailed and constructive feedback to students.
• Support students in their practicum and fieldwork experiences, ensuring they apply theoretical knowledge to real-world settings and adhere to ethical and professional standards outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).

• Conducted comprehensive Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) to determine the underlying causes of challenging behaviors in students.
• Developed, implemented, and monitored Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) tailored to each student’s individual needs.
• Provided training and ongoing support to teachers, paraprofessionals, and school staff on Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles, behavior management strategies, intervention techniques, and data collection methods.
• Collaborated with teachers, school psychologists, counselors, speech-language pathologists, occupational therapists, and other professionals to develop comprehensive support plans for students.
• Maintained current knowledge of best practices in behavior analysis by attending workshops, conferences, and engaging in ongoing professional development.continuing education opportunities, and sharing knowledge with school staff.

• Developed and implemented IEPs for students with autism, tailoring instructional strategies to meet their unique needs.
• Implemented interventions focused on social skills development, language and sensory enrichment including but not limited to, discrete trial training (DTT), pivotal response training (PRT), and Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS).
• Conducted regular assessments and monitored student progress, making data-driven decisions to adjust instructional approaches.
• Collaborated with speech language pathologists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to provide comprehensive support for students.

• Designed and monitored applied behavior analysis (ABA) treatment programs for clients with autism spectrum disorder.
• Trained behavior instructors, parents, and other professionals to implement ABA treatment plans.
• Organized client team meetings to update the client’s treatment plan and to support behavior instructors and parents.
• Managed client caseloads and oversaw all aspects of their behavioral programming, including assessments, plan development, implementation, and review.

• Managed a caseload of students, coordinating and scheduling IEP meetings, assessments, and services.
• Modified curriculum and instructional materials to meet the individual needs of students, ensuring accessibility and engagement.
