Some of my strengths are reliability, proficiency, and communication. I’m a very involved student with academics, sports, and music, so I have to be able to balance my time with priorities; staying proficient with organization helps maintain that. One of the perks that come with being organized is performing consistency with tasks. Being reliable means taking responsibility and obtaining a trustworthy character. Between church and my summer job, I have been in multiple situations and communicated with a diverse group of ages, while also forming relationships with co-workers and other peers.
This job is a summer job, specifically the month of July, and is focused working up at the school with age groups 4-12 years old. I have been experienced in counseling 3rd grade for two years which involves parenting skills and awareness at all times. Being able to communicate with not just the kids, but their families is essential with kids who have diabetes or asthma. During events such as Old Home Days and the 4th of July, volunteering at the park picking up trash and thoroughly cleaning the environment is required.
I’ve been involved at St John’s church for many years. First starting off as an alter server from 2017-2019 and then contributing as a musician. I slowly started picking up instruments to play at church and once our music director and priest left, I became the intern music director. This involved in Wednesday night choir rehearsals and rehearsals before service on Sunday mornings. I had to engage in a variety of liturgical settings for preludes, offertories, and interludes in order to incorporate diverse styles for the congregation.
I’m in a music society at my school called “Tri-M” and in this group I demonstrate leadership and diligence. I am treasurer which requires efficiency in counting money and decision making. Not only is this position a big deal, but it’s something you get by an application, so the ability to prove your point and be persuasive in your writing is vital.
