Ambitious and dedicated college graduate looking to further my education and skills as a veterinary assistant/technician/nurse.
I have been in the veterinary field for seven years now and I have learned and come a long way since I have started. I started off in the kennels as a kennel technician. Then got into a veterinary assistant online school program where I got certified as a veterinary assistant . From there I got into a veterinary technology program, graduated and went on to become a veterinary technician/nurse . I have worked in general practices (clinics and hospitals) and in an Emergency hospital. I am currently working towards taking the VTNE to become a certified veterinary technician/nurse.
I was employed at Blue Peral Pet Emergency Hospital as an Emergency Veterinary Technician/ ICU Nurse for four years. And while I was I assisted the veterinarian with exams in and out of the rooms and with surgeries (major and minor). I have performed triages, blood draws, restraint, IVC placements, setting up for blood, plasma, and anti-venom transfusions, setting up for IVF and fluid bolus', and bandage/splint changes. I have also assisted in CPR, assisted in taking radiographs, I have taken blood, fecal and cytology samples and have ran them in the lab. I have also done pharmacology with getting the medications and their labels ready for the client. I have also assisted both the veterinarian and the clients during euthanasia's. Working and helping my fellow technicians and assisting with cleaning and laundry. And while working overnight I also did reception work.
I was employed with First Coast No More Homeless Pets as a veterinary technician.
My daily duties are to assist the doctors in rooms while also educating and getting medications
together for the clients. Assisting with medicating and treating our hospitalized patients.
Assisting in/with surgery procedures. While also assisting with both (pre op and post op).
Working and helping my fellow technicians and assisting with cleaning, laundry, etc
I was employed with VCA Augustine/Loretto Animal Hospital as a kennel technician,
while also utilizing my veterinary assistant/ technician skills. Daily activities include
cleaning and collecting lab work. Also running lab work and getting the samples
ready to get set out. Maintaining kennels, doing laundry, assisting fellow technicians
with restraints and collecting lab work.
I began volunteering at the zoo in order to gain supplementary knowledge and
experience about various kinds of animals. While volunteering, I clean and maintain
the animal’s habitats. I also assist the zookeepers with various tasks, while also
witnessing the veterinary team at work.
My externship at this animal hospital allowed me to gain exceptional hands-on
experience. I was able to perform vitals on the animals, as well as blood draws and IV
catheters. As an extern, I also assisted the veterinarians with various tasks.

back IV lines to IV bags, etc)
