I am a board-certified Adult Health- Adult Gerontological Primary Care DNP. For 5 years, I've provided comprehensive, primary care for an organization that serves disabled adults. My patients have varying degrees of cerebral palsy, intellectual disabilities, traumatic brain injuries or histories of cerebral vascular accidents with residual cognitive or physical deficiencies. Many of these patients suffer from chronic pain, and seizures and are wheelchair-bound. Managing chronic diseases in this population and improving their quality of life has become my passion. I recently obtained a DNP student from Molloy University. As a student, I implemented a quality improvement project that lowered late-stage pressure injury incidence rates in one of my practice's long-term care facilities. I am taking the WOCN wound and ostomy board certification exam to continue along this path as an expert. I endeavor to continue expanding my education and expertise as a DNP to bring as much talent, practical experience, and skill to the table as a nurse leader, and a provider.
