Accomplishments

Console Operator
Successfully guided unit through several major upsets while keeping outside operators safe with minimal to zero flaring. Successfully trained other employees on the DCS as well as unit operations with outside equipment.

Cost Efficiency
Worked with unit directors at the Valero Coker Unit on an idea I put forth on saving money by increasing the gas oil temperature reducing the frequency of filter cleaning on equipment that never showed signs of fowling over several months of frequent cleaning which according to the unit planner cut maintenance cost by 85%. Conducted operations on the DCS that allowed the unit to use less anti-foam and diesel during the delayed coking process by 20%.

Job Safety
Suffered no job related injuries over my entire career in this industry. Conducted safety meetings for Valero Texas City on behalf of the safety department and The Kemper County IGCC Project. These safety meetings included coverage of job specific activities covered by the JSA as well as accident avoidance and safe housekeeping.
