CESAR ESPINOZA-PEREZ

Providence

Summary

Formerly unhoused community organizer & entrepreneur with over a decade of working for governments, one community college, one university, and multiple nonprofits, ~ 6 years doing harm reduction work, and over a year helping unhoused people become housed. Due to my leadership as a sex worker organizer, I got nominated to the Steering Committee of Decrim Sex Work CA coalition. Working w/ other coalition members we introduced SB357 via Senator Weiner’s Office. We successfully got this bill signed into law by Governor Newson. This new law erased loitering w/ intent to commit prostitution from the CA Penal Code. This year we are supporting undocumented immigrant sex via emergency funds. We are also fighting against and/or aim to amend bills that threaten the safety of sex workers
