Intern

Brockton Redevelopment Authority
01.2023 - 05.2023

As an intern at the BRA, I had the opportunity to collaborate with both BRA members and residents who were interested in participating in the organization's programs. My internship was facilitated by Southeastern Regional for the Brockton Redevelopment Authority, which focuses on community development and economic revitalization, particularly for low- and moderate-income households and areas in Brockton. During my time there, I engaged in client calls, conducted site visits, and had the privilege of meeting various individuals, including Mayor Robert F. Sullivan, who presented me with a citation upon completion of my internship. Through this experience, I gained valuable skills in financial auditing, contract work, and business operations, as I worked with small businesses in the Brockton area. One of my favorite programs was the Home Program, which aimed to improve homes to meet city standards and enhance residents' quality of life. Witnessing the joy of residents when we completed the work and knowing that I played a role in the process, from the initial contract to the contractors' work, was truly rewarding and will be what makes the internship truly special to me.
