I promoted to Lieutenant in January 2024. I was asssigned to Detention as the A-Team daywatch Lieutenant. I successfully completed my training phase and have taken on several improvement projects. I am currently in charge of and manage between 60-100 employees commissioned and civilian at any given time.
I was promoted to Sergeant in March 2021 where I was assigned to detention. I successfully completed my detention training program and was assigned to A and C-Team until my transfer to patrol in November of the same year.
During my assignment in training and Compliance I was assigned as FTO coordinator. Some of my job duties during that time I was tasked with organizing and instructing a 5 week patrol academy, scheduling trainees and assigning FTO's completing phase board interview and maintaining any trainee documents including but not limited too reading and signing Daily Observation Reports, reviewing Trainee reports and phase progression. Communicating with patrol and detention command staff, and line supervisors on trainee progression. Other responsibilities while assigned to the division were review of policy, updating and researching their relevance and constancy with current trends and practices. Direct involvement with executive staff on Sheriff' 'Office annual training (CET)to fit the needs of the office and the vision of the sheriff. Review of lesson plans with subject matter experts and coordination with the regional training facility to secure training locations.
As a patrol deputy who understand the clear definition of the patrol functions that enable me to know the direct actions that are in concert with agency policy and thus allowing me to deliver appropriate services to the community. I was responsible for the following tasks: Preventive patrol (including inquiry and inspectional activity) oriented towards prevention of crimes and accidents, maintenance of pubic order, and the discovery of hazards and delinquency-causing situations. Crime prevention activities, response to called-for-services, investigation of crimes, offenses, incidents, and conditions to include arresting offenders. Traffic direction and control, regulation of certain businesses or activities as required by law, provision of emergency services, development of relationships between citizens and department personnel.
