I Chadwick Powell was in Textiles for about 20 years starting in 2000. My Job title was a Technical Manager and I overseen 200+ Air Bag machines and two sites in South Hill Va. I had several employees and between the two sites I had around 20 employees to oversee and schedule time and approve time biweekly. While at GST I was always learning new machinery and was sent overseas several times for job training. I was sent to Romania and Germany several times for job training and learned a great deal. During my journey in the Textile Business I learned that textiles was going out towards Europe mostly and decided to learn more in the Health Care field so I started nursing classes at SVCC. In 2018/2019 my son was in an vehicle accident and at the time I had already resigned from GST to further my education in nursing so then my priorities changed because my son needed my full attention so I started taking care of my son full time and going to school full time for Nursing at SVCC. At SVCC I have completed all of my prerequisites all the way to my Bachelor Degree in Nursing. I also recently passed and received my EMT-Basic Certification and have completed my EVOC classes and received certification also. Currently I am also in school at SVCC in the EMS-AEMT/Paramedic school.
