• Maintain and keep all equipment at peak running condition with effective preventative maintenance and detailed repair schedules

•Develop and maintain a consistent schedule of performing preventative maintenance of all Herc owned fleet at long term customer job sites

•Conduct oil changes, lubrication of equipment, tire replacements, hose repairs, battery replacements and assorted services

•Operate and test equipment such as boom lifts, forklifts, compressors, portable and stationary generators, hydraulics, pumps and assorted tools and equipment

•Diagnose and repair heavy equipment as needed to ensure proper operating condition at the job site

•Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical systems, fuel systems, hydraulic systems and propane systems

•Replace and recondition assorted parts to return equipment to a safely functioning state

•Educate customers on proper use of equipment to avoid future breakdowns

•Analyze problem areas for any significant wear or tear and address to ensure proper usage of the equipment

•Adhere to all safety guidelines posted at active jobsite where repairs and maintenance are completed

•Maintain clean and organized work area on jobsite

•Produce timely and detailed service reports and repair logs daily

• Maintain positive relationships with customers

•Provide on call services to support any operational needs

• Performs check-ins and safety inspections on diesel and heavy equipment.
• Performs Mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and/or diesel engine maintenance, and assists other equipment mechanics with general shop and equipment maintenance as directed.

• Performs preventive and annual maintenance and diagnosis of equipment for repairs.
• Fabricate parts and equipment as required to meet shop and customer needs.
• Diagnose simple and complex mechanical equipment problems
• Operate Equipment as needed for repair and loading/unloading.
• Maintain safe work environment and perform duties in accordance with safety standards.

· Inspect, service and maintain gas and diesel engines on Freightliner, Cargo Vans, Hino’s, Internationals, Ford’s, GMC and Isuzu’s.

· Maintained and repaired diesel trucks and trailers.

· Weld joints and components, source materials and fabricate parts to complete repairs.

· Performed preventive and scheduled maintenance.

· Road tested vehicles after service to test functionality are to standard.

· Diagnosed vehicle malfunctions and wrote repair orders.

· Service and repair tow dollies and car carriers.

· Moderate electrical repairs to trucks, trailers and tow dollies.

· Perform scheduled DOT inspections.
