- Growing up on a farm allowed me to gain an understanding of the expected work ethic that is required of people working together to get jobs done I have worked with my dad and brother as we worked ground, planted and harvested crops as well as managed the care of our cows This experience has taught me many skills as working on a farm requires maintenance and repair of equipment We have built multiple buildings on the farm which included wiring and plumbing My family has taught me the basics of many different trades The one I enjoyed the most was getting to help my dad wire in the barns and working on various household projects (updating outlets and trouble shooting problems in an old farmhouse) Through all of this, I have had a great opportunity to work with Dad and learn proper use of tools and equipment
