  • Assisted certified diesel technician in all stages of overhaul on ALCO diesel main engines. Replaced fuel lift pumps, injector pumps, jacket water pumps, cylinder liners, cylinder heads, turbo assembly etc.
  • Managed and scheduled vital maintenance for four major Coast Guard Vessels in home-ported in Pensacola.
  • Oversaw workplace safety programs, hazardous material programs, and ensured unit was in compliance with various OSHA and EPA requirements.
  • Made steel form parts using various cutting equipment and welded part together per specifications for various marine engine & equipment applications.

  • Served as head of engineering watch team directly supervising approximately 20 members in engineering department. Oversaw operation of diesel generators, main diesel engines, main & emergency switchboards, emergency generators, production of freshwater utilizing reverse osmosis units, HVAC systems in accordance with standard operating procedures.
  • Directed maintenance programs for all life-saving equipment to include gas analyzers, fire extinguishing systems, installed AFFF analysis, and SCBA maintenance. Recorded and submitted maintenance sheets to chief engineer for approval.
  • Oversaw on-load, storage, ballast and transfer of 70,000 gallons of diesel oil.
  • Served as member of emergency response team for engineering casualties. Additionally, served as a training instructor for approximately 80 members on proper fire-fighting procedures, toxic gas response, flooding, and confined spaces entry.

  • General maintenance of Co2 fire-fighting systems. Fire-fighting pumps, piping, valves, and controlling stations.
  • General maintenance of sewage vacuum pumps, transfer pumps, operating panels, tank level indicators, and sewage piping.
  • Conducted hourly rounds and recorded pressures, temperatures, and various parameters of all diesel engines, reduction gears, reverse osmosis units, HVAC units, and reefer systems. Notified proper personnel and generated work requests for broken or inoperable machinery.
  • Utilized danger tags and lock-out/tag-out program to lock out broken or inoperable machinery. Cleared tags as equipment was fixed by proper personnel.
