*Design/sew bridal party and Prom garments and formal wear alterations.

*Over 50 years experience sewing for others

*Also design and sew costumes for local live theater production companies.

*Extensive knowledge of and experience in basic and advanced sewing techniques and fabrics.

*Majored in Costume Design at ISU and completed coursework in flat pattern making, drafting, draping, and design.

*Taught off-campus courses to family service professionals, parents, early childhood educators in family life subject matter including but not limited to child and adult development, stress management, mental health, communications, early literacy, and caregiving.

*Facilitated face-to-face series all over the state of Iowa and virtual classes in Iowa and surrounding states.

*Networked with family service and education organizations to meet the needs of families.

*Developed and piloted new programs to address emerging needs.

*An example of my work: Trained over 2000 early childhood educators/child care professionals to meet or exceed quality indicators using the Environment Rating Scales in the state of Iowa from 2001-2024.

*After a 42+ year career with ISU, retired in Feb 2024.
