Managing the care of patients undergoing open-heart surgery, including preparing them pre-operatively, monitoring their vital signs during surgery, assisting with the surgical team, and providing post-operative care and education to the patient and their family.

Working primarily within the operating suite, the nurse will be responsible for preparing patient, handling and preparing operating instruments and equipment, monitoring patient status, and assisting with open-heart surgeries.

• As a surgical board runner the primary responsibility is coordinating patient flow in the surgical department, including verifying patient information, ensuring necessary equipment and supplies are available, facilitating communication between surgical teams and other departments, and managing the surgical schedule and board, often by monitoring patient vital signs pre and post operatively.
• also preparing surgical operating suite with sterile and non sterile instruments and supplies.
• Assist surgeons during surgery, providing required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon and assisting with hemostasis
• Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients
• Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instruments counts throughout procedure

• A plastic surgery specializes in assisting plastic surgeons during cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries, providing comprehensive patient care before, during, and after procedures, which includes assisting patients, preparing them for surgery, monitoring vital signs in the operating room, educating patents about post-operative care, and managing wound dressing.
