Projects

Geosmin Filtration for BTD Process Water Purification, 05/2023 - 08/2023,

Led the development of an experimental methodology aimed at efficiently removing Geosmin from BTD process water, conducting lab-scale treatments. Employed GC-MS and sensory analysis to identify the most effective Geosmin removal method. Orchestrated the next steps of scaling up of filtration processes, conducting comprehensive cost and consumable analyses to optimize efficiency.

Craft Your Own Soda, 06/15/2023 - 06/23/2023,

Utilized the new product development steps—ideation, research, planning, prototyping, testing, and launch—to create a personal project: strawberry shortcake soda at Buffalo Trace Distillery. This experience provided invaluable insights into the world of New Product Development and allowed me to enhance my technical skills, including understanding acidity ratios and carbonation techniques.

Project Iowa, 05/2023 - 05/2024

Formulated new products for Sazerac, investigating shelf-life and responses to color, absorbance, turbidity, pH, and brix over time across various temperature settings.

Analysis on Implementation of Mechanical Vapor Recompression at JBBI, 01/2024 - 05/2024

Worked on a team of four chemical engineering students to design an MVR system for the James B. Beam Institute, prioritizing cost reduction and sustainability. Conducted comprehensive tasks including cost analysis, equipment sizing, and thorough comparison with less efficient designs. Delivered a compelling presentation to the leadership of the James B. Beam Institute and authored a detailed report encapsulating our findings.
