Inpatient Forensic Admission Unit, 200 beds. Responsible for admissions psychiatric assessments, diagnosing, treatment and monitor of forensic, mentally ill residents to assist in competency restoration. Individual case load of approximately 75 patients, in addition to approximately 25-35 admissions monthly. Improved patient outcomes and decreased number of days of stay, by utilizing evidence-based practice and collaborating closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Collaborated twice daily with directors of each department of acute care hospital, coordinating admission/discharge and transfers of patients. Arranged direct admissions with physician offices as well as surgical admissions. Streamlined workflow for nursing staff by conducting regular unit assessments and process improvements.
