The experience gathered in over twenty years of detailed Wedding and Event Management comes with a holistic balance. Respect, organization, and creative problem solving are foundational blocks in the leadership approach of building a winning team of workers. The leadership journey of hiring and training began with a group of eight young volunteers and a micro budget. This was a huge challenge set before me with training this youthful crew to honor the clients' vision and respect the organizations branding. Not to mention, my husband was one of the bosses with high expectations and a stickler for details! Cultivating and planning events such as weddings, concerts, food and wine tasting, business dinners, galas and religious celebrations are just a few of the events. I had the challenge of consistently executing strong organizational skills, management of multiple venues and with simultaneous events. Looking back, the successes and challenges give a fulfillment and new excitement from a more mature perspective. Twelve years later, I joyfully handed over the reigns to one of those beginning employees. I continue to be on the board of directors as a mentor. What was built in those ten years became an internationally recognized team of 40 plus workers that manage with excellence in the Caribbean nation.
No job or detail is to small. In 2001 I first opened "In the Details" as a naevi wedding planner. The focus was memorable experience with detail care. There is great importance of one on one attention and also maintaining a birds eye view. After serving over 50 couples balancing both of these perspectives is a challenge that has taken time to learn. Detailed décor, ambiance lighting, the brides silent smile is crucial but equal to the overall organization and event culture. What a joy 20 years of experience has been in and what excitement for a new chapter.
Mountain View Guest House was a bed and breakfast experience for local and international guests. Mountain view had two locations on the island of Trinidad. Each location was a 3-story home with multiple rooms and a full service kitchen on the grounds.
Daily responsibilities included but were not limited to management of staff. Care of rooms, grounds and facility. Each guests individualized island experience was under my portfolio. This position held the responsibility to accommodate guests travel needs, special food requests, and entertainment. Making each stay unique and memorable.
