I have always been fascinated with the visual arts and began drawing at a very young age. At the age of 6, I was diagnosed with ADHD so it was always very difficult for me to stay focused and learn in school. Furthermore, my family has experienced many hardships over the years which affected me greatly. My one escape from these issues that plagued my childhood was creating art. Art has greatly enriched my life and at many times it served as therapy for me. I am a self-taught artist and my main artistic preference is sketching and drawing. Over the years I have personally experimented with different techniques and styles to achieve my desired outcomes. My parents also enrolled me in different art programs and classes during my summer breaks from school. Furthermore, at South Broward High School, I have taken numerous art classes and have been extremely fortunate to have had wonderful and inspiring art teachers. I primarily excel at sketching and drawing and especially enjoy sketching animals. I feel there are so many variations and details to each species and love exploring those. I am particularly enamored by the beauty of horses. Through my sketches, I love to portray the emotions of horses and their connections or interactions with each other. I have always felt a strong connection with horses as well; this may be due to the fact that I have been riding horses since age 10 and currently I am not only an equestrian rider but I am also a competitive equestrian jumper. Art has not only helped me put my feelings into beautiful portrayals but it has also immortalized whatever majestic creature I can visualize.
