• In addition to regular duties, observe and instruct new officer recruits on how to handle a crime scene, complete interviews, and write reports.
• Submit performance reviews to supervisors based on assessments of trainee competency and execution of duties.

Police Officer

January 2021 - Current

• Respond to 911-dispatched calls including domestic disputes, violent crimes, break-ins, traffic incidents and DWI stops.
• Perform proactive traffic stops and investigate suspicious observations.
• Interview and question suspects and witnesses at scenes.
• Secure a crime scene; assess injuries and provide CPR or first aid until paramedics arrive.
• Produce written reports during and after police investigations, attend depositions, and testify in court when needed.
• Participate in advanced training in the fields of trauma/first-aid, de-escalation techniques, and mental health in law enforcement

• Triaged and prioritized incoming correspondence for the Special Agent in Charge and his command staff.
• Attended high-level meetings and acted as a scribe providing supervisors the ability to review if needed at a later date.
• Reviewed written documents created by the department to further my education on domestic and international terrorism

• Attended live crime scenes and autopsies with detectives to develop a better understanding of job responsibilities
• Participated in and provided input at squad and unit meetings run by the department heads pertaining to open homicide cases; attended court proceedings, observing murder trials and sentencing hearings.
