Technical Experience

Cold working:

  • Cutting, grinding, and shaping blown and sheet glass with precision.
  • Proficient in operating: belt sander, grit and diamond wheels, lathe, grinder, glass saw, sandblaster, Dremel, drill press, and soldering iron.

Fusing:

  • Scheduling and managing kiln firings for tack, contour, full, and combination fuses.
  • Preparing kilns for efficient and even heat distribution—arranging shelves, bricks, and kiln paper.
  • Loading and unloading all firing materials safely and efficiently.

Glass Blowing:

  • Operating and maintaining hot shop equipment, including glass furnaces, reheating chambers, annealers, pipe warmer, garage, and pick-up oven.
  • Cleaning and organizing tools and workstations.
  • Experienced in both gaffer and assistant roles.

Flameworking:

  • Operating and minor repairs of glassworking torches.
  • Programming and managing small annealers.
  • Replacing oxygen and propane tanks with full safety compliance.
