Production Controller (Military)

    • As the Production Controller for FMS #12, I am primarily responsible for stock management functions to maintain equipment records and parts
    • I plan maintenance operations based on the mechanical skill levels of my mechanics and the availability of testing and diagnostic equipment
    • By analyzing repair methods and developing control procedures and policies to assure accomplishment of programs to meet priorities and deadlines established by higher authority or support activities, I ensure that these functions are performed in the most effective and efficient manner possible with good quality control and quality assurance procedures in place
    • I assign and maintain all services and repairs based on the FAD, ERC, pacing items, Commander, and State level priorities
    • I also verify that all work is completed in accordance with the accompanying Technical Manual, to include the Maintenance Allocation Chart
    • I maintain stock records and other documents such as inventory, demand analysis, material control, accounting, and supply reports
    • I review and verify quantities received against bills of contracts, purchase requests and shipping documents
    • I count, segregate, and store incoming supplies and equipment
    • I keep storage areas and designated shelving organized and properly maintained
    • I manage data for all orders, shipment requests, and maintenance support requests
    • I monitor unit Class IX accounts to ensure that requisitions are funded and executed to maximize unit readiness
    • I monitor my units' MTO&E and TDA to ensure I always have the proper service parts on hand as well as other projected needs based on their information
    • I strive to raise the quality and accuracy of cost and parts data through accurate maintenance management utilizing proper prioritization and efficiency of processes
    • Using GCSS-Army, I provide status of equipment, maintenance actions in progress, and location of equipment as required or requested
    • I regularly discuss funding and budgeting obstacles with my Foreman to exhaust all available resources to maintain the required level of readiness even when funds are unavailable or limited
    • I am responsible for data input of work order information, status changes, supply updates, man-hour accounting and other pertinent information
    • I can provide guidance and oversight of mechanics and other positions assisting in the maintenance production or maintenance management process
    • I make on-the-spot adjustments to repair priorities necessitated by unscheduled maintenance requirements and ensure that all equipment and line-item numbers are reported and accounted for with respect to readiness reports, property accountability reports, and system management
    • I provide exceptional customer service to the units my shop supports, and I have outstanding written and oral communication skills

Surface Maintenance Repairer (Military)

    • As a Surface Maintenance Repairer, I performed limited diagnosis using visual and auditory checks and/or basic test equipment such as compression testers, voltmeters, ohmmeters and pressure gauges
    • I performed routine repairs and maintenance on heavy-duty mobile equipment, combat, tactical and automotive vehicles
    • I determined when parts should be cleaned, adjusted or replaced with standard parts to complete work order
    • I assisted higher graded mechanics in the repair and/or overhaul of major systems to include internal combustion engines, automatic transmissions and hydraulic utility systems and controls
    • I made routine repairs that can be accomplished by removing, adjusting, or replacing defective or worn parts and components
