Work History

Scientist, Cell-based & Ligand-binding Assay Lead

Seagen/Pfizer
06.2021 - Current
  • Lead the non-GLP bioanalytical cell-based & ligand -binding assay team.
  • Mentor and manage four direct reports.
  • Develop and oversee development of generic and fit-for-purpose bioanalytical assays, which helped understand PK/PD of ADCs and land key go/no go decisions on projects. This include cell-based assays, such as neutralizing antibody (NAb) assays, potency assays and receptor occupancy assays, and ligand-binding assays such as antibody drug conjugate (ADC) assays, generic/specific total antibody (TAb) assay, generic anti-drug antibody (ADA) assays, soluble antigen assays, biomarker assays etc.
  • Oversee and manage preclinical sample testing of PK/TK/PD studies, which provided key support in understanding efficiency and exposure.
  • Organized 2 cross functional working groups that helped solve key translational questions, such as immunogenicity risk assessment and ocular toxicology.
  • Explore industry advanced technologies and successfully designed a vesicle flow cytometry assay to understand extracellular vesicles related PD/PK questions.
  • Evaluated and implemented automation and robotics to improve quality and robustness of sample analysis. Successfully implemented Echo acoustic liquid handling system in PK analysis, which significantly reduced sample volume and improved efficiency.
  • Manage CRO FTEs and outsourcing.
  • Lead key projects that proceed to pre-IND gates and provide expertise support for IND filing.

Technical lab skills involve primary cell culture, tissue culture, flow cytometry, cytokine bead assay, MSD, ELISA, Gyrolab, qPCR etc.

Ph.D. Graduate Research Assistant

University Of Southern California
08.2015 - 04.2021
  • Led and managed 5 scientific and clinical projects on autoimmune dry eye disease pathogenesis, biomarker and therapeutics development.
  • Projects involved fields including cell biology, drug delivery and immunotherapy
  • Established SOPs, write, update and renewal of IACUC, IBC and RSC protocols
  • Successfully led key projects which resulted in 3 first author research publications and 1 clinical review
  • Mentored 2 master students and 2 undergrad students who all further pursued advanced degree
  • Invited to speak at 3 international meetings ARVO2020, IOSS2020, IOSS2019
  • Designed tutorial and effectively taught drug design and clinical pharmacology to class of 200 PharmD students, assisted in organizing 8 courses, and conducted office hours
  • Technical lab skills involve adenovirus generation, confocal microscopy, IHC, qPCR, ELISA, RNA and DNA isolation, isolation and primary cell culture, flow cytometry/FACS, LC-MS, HPLC, micelle liposome formulation, drug delivery, animal models, etc.

Master Graduate Research Assistant

Imperial College London
10.2014 - 07.2015
