In 2000, I began my career with the probation department. I’ve had the opportunity to have work various assignments. During my time with the department I worked on units at old CJDAC, Regional youth educational facility, HDJDAC, Camp Heart bar, and KYC: 2000-2001 CJDAC units, Control, and KYC; I worked as a PCOT. My responsibilities were safety and security of the youths I monitored. I would escort youths to clinic, booking, school, library, dining hall, monitor visiting, monitor free time, distribute meds, conduct room searches and room checks, counsel youths, complete room checks, monitor LMA, conduct groups with the youths, write behavior summaries and complete case work etc... On the days I worked at KYC I would go into the community with the youths to transport them to college, jobs, interviews, monitor outings, and other tasks as needed. 2001-2004 Regional Youth Educational Facility worked as a PCO; my responsibilities were safety and security of the youths I monitored. I wrote treatment plans, would distribute meds, monitor LMA, monitor free time, take youths into the community to transport them to college, jobs, and interviews, monitor outings, taught youths how to budget money and balance a check book, and other tasks as needed. I was on the transition committee to move Regional from unit 4 to their new location. I served as an acting PCSI. I planned outings, one in which all staff, youths, and youths family members attended. I was the substance abuse coordinators back up. 2004-2007 All units and control at HDJDAC worked as a PCO; I was in the first group to open HDJDAC. My responsibilities were safety and security of the youths I monitored. I would distribute meds, escort youths to clinic, booking, school, and library, conduct room checks and room searches, monitor LMA, monitor free time, write behavior summaries and complete case work, Acting Supervisor duties etc... 2007-2010 HDJDAC Transportation: I worked as a PCO. I was responsible for transporting youths to court, doctor appointments, and dental appointments, to and from other county facilities, to and from other State facilities, Acting Supervisor duties, etc. During this time I also worked in the institution on the units. 2010-current HDJDAC units, control: My responsibilities are safety and security of the youths I monitor. Conduct radio checks and monitor institution cameras. I distribute meds, escort youths to clinic, booking, school, and library, conduct room checks and room searches, monitor LMA, write behavior summaries and complete case work, complete the POS monthly meal audit for HDJDAC, Acting Supervisor duties etc... In September 2018, I was given a temporary Acting Supervisor schedule for a month at HDJDAC. In my 22 year career with Probation, I was assigned caseloads with lower functioning levels. I helped develop special programs that these individuals could understand.
