Responsible for both the success of and strategic planning for the Recreational and Travel (AAU) Basketball programs.

Responsibilities

• Supervises all part-time staff and contractors for each program.
• On an on-going basis, evaluates classes making sure each class is running effectively and reaching expectation levels.
• Working with HR, hires and trains all part-time staff.
• Manages and maintains all staff schedules, and evaluates all staff ensuring they are on time, professional, and in uniform.
• Submits vendor invoices for approval and coordinates with Finance on the payment of said invoices.
• Manages any special circumstances that arise during classes and communicate accordingly with supervisors. This may include, but is not limited to, completing accident/incident reports when necessary, speaking on site to parents/caretakers regarding any questions or concerns.
• Primary contact for Basketball department. Maintains positive and open lines of communication with all families and participants. Responds to all parent inquiries in a timely manner.
• Working with the Director of Sports Operations ensures curriculum development is up to date.
• Ensures outcomes measurement efforts are carried out in a timely and accurate fashion including capturing program registration and attendance information.
• Monitors class registrations, uniform inventory and equipment purchasing.
• Promotes/markets the Basketball Private Lesson business.
• Works with Director of Sports Operations to retain and recruit participants for classes.
• Reviews and approves all Paycom timecards for full-time basketball staff.
• Creates all term class charts for online registration.
• Monitors website for accuracy regarding programs.
• Coaches two travel basketball teams.
• Works alongside the Director of Sports Operations and the Senior Director of Administration to strategize the expansion of the AAU Basketball program.

As the Basketball Program manager the duties include.

* Coaching all youth classes ( ages 3-12)

* Developing the curriculum for the youth basketball program.

* Supervision and scheduling for Adult sports.

* Staff scheduling

* Admin for all youth and adult basketball programming

* Manage all purchase orders

*Develop practice plans and scheduling
* Coordinate travel arrangements from hotel accommodations to transportation
* Break down game film and assist the head coach in game plan and preparation
* Recruit potential incoming high school athletes and transfers from the Junior College ranks
* Set up recruiting visits for an overnight stay
* Set up recruiting visit for potential incoming athletes with there families
* Monitor and supervise the development of the athletes academic progress by running and supervising study halls and setting up tutors as needed
