Was the shift utilities operator, in charge of pumping raw water from the sabine and turning the water into boiler feedwater to run (2) boilers to produce steam for the unit as well as piped steam to neighboring unit for their supply
Operated a co-products unit as the sole operator on site. Responsible for intake of product to be sold from other units on the complex, tested the product, and blended the product to specifications before loading product in rail cars and shipping the cars to the customer. Also, responsible for offloading Butene from railcars and feeding Butene to the reactors of a sister unit on the complex.
Operated the Westlake Styrene Terminal at the dock. This was a lone operator position. This location was manned by (1) Westlake process operator. I was in charge of loading specified orders consisting of metric tons of Styrene onto ships and barges, as well as offloading Benzene (main feed stock) from barges which I then piped to the main unit to feed the reactors for production.
Coordinated all logistics involved in loading ships and unloading barges. This involved coordinating pilots, agents, Homeland Security, dock men, tankermen, inspectors, Security, The US Coast Guard as well as a neighboring Coke plant which utilized the same dock.
Coordinated loading process during key meetings with the vessel's captain and went over safety proceedures as well as determined ratio of inhibitor to be placed into which loading compartments, as well as loading rates.
