Work History

Military Police

U.S. Army
10.1988 - 03.2006

From 1988-1995 I served with the Military Police Corps in the U.S. Army, Army Reserve and Ohio National Guard. My responsibilities varied depending upon my duty station but mostly involved combat-support, physical security and traditional law enforcement.

In 2003, after hearing we were going back to Iraq as part of the 9/11 campaign, I re-enlisted into the Army as a Medic. Unfortunately, I suffered a career-ending injury during training for Iraq and was given an honorable-medical discharge in March 2006.

During my out-processing at Fort Knox, I spent several nights per week speaking to young soldiers in a semi-private environment regarding their transition from soldier to civilian life. Many of these young soldiers were scared and unsure of their future place in this world. I was able to provide support, hope and comfort which I'm quite proud of.

Caregiver - Adult Senior

Family Members
03.2006 - 11.2021

Upon my 2006 Army discharge, my parents asked me to live with them because their failing health did not allow them to care for themselves.

For roughly 15 years total, I provided reliable, loving and caring support for my mother and father until their passing in 2011 and 2021 respectively. My duties included cooking, cleaning, changing their bedding/clothing, administering medications, transportation to and acting as a cognitive liaison for their doctors, etc.
